Handcrafted from Blue Ridge mountain hardwoods—sometimes maple, spruce, walnut, or red cedar, sometimes cherry, poplar, wormy chestnut, or western cedar—these exquisite mandolins are built for discerning musicians who'll settle for nothing less than the best. Blaine cuts the sides of the body from a solid piece of wood, approximately 1/4 inch thick, then fits the top and bottom into place, with a sound hole in the upper left corner. This placement allows the entire top to vibrate, producing a sound that is pure and rich. The neck has 8 geared mandolin tuners and the entire instrument is lacquered with a semi-gloss finish.
You will not find a mandolin like this in a music store; this is an heirloom instrument built for a musician, by a musician, in the time-honored Appalachian tradition that has made mountain music a cherished American legacy. $400.00
